Dress Code, Clothing & Extra Clothing

General

Please make sure that students wear clothes that is comfortable, modest and appropriate for the weather and season. First Graders love to climb, jump and run, so please ensure that if your child is wearing a dress or skirt, that they are wearing shorts underneath. It is also a good idea to help students choose simple clothing that does not have many decorative items such as chains, strings and big buckles. This will help keep them safe on the playground and jungle gym.

Extra Set

Please pack a complete extra set of clothing, just in case of accidents and or weather related issues. Clothes will be sent home every quarter. Please send clothes that are more appropriate for that season. Also, if your child brings back some clothing, please replace the items in the set immediately.

Fridays

Fridays are Art days. Please send students to school wearing old clothes that can get dirty and stained. We do provide shirts for students to wear over their clothes, but these are not 100% spill proof. I may ask you to do this on other days of the week if we are doing a project, as well.

Aircon

In the summer, we usually switch the Aircon on in class. Please pack a jacket/sweater for your child to wear if it gets cool.

Rain Fun & Puddles

Water Games

Sometimes, our playground becomes flooded with rain water. If it is a nice day outside, I usually allow students to splash and play in the puddles. Students will only be allowed to play if:

  1. They have an extra set of dry clothes, including socks and shoes.

  2. They are barefoot or wearing water shoes, such as crocs or rainboots.

  3. They have a small towel to dry off.
